Description
Very healthy textbook wakizashi by Omi Daijo Tadahiro. He is the son and second generation of the first Tadayoshi. Thick nie-deki suguha hamon, as is the case for a textbook example of Hizen Tadahiro. As there are many swords signed Tadahiro made by his students as well, for some it is difficult to discern the differences.
Those that are well made, with the nioguchi done in thick nie, instead of a thin line, are the most wanted. This sword has the thick nioguchi, with a beautiful fine ko-itame hada. Fine Ji nie is present in abundance with chikei. Hizen swords are also notorious for having thin skin steel (kawagane), and many has terrible spots of core steel (shintetsu) bleeding through the outer layer. This sword has a perfect hada, with no kizu or core steel showing. Boshi is classic maru in the Hizen style and very healthy. Along with its original tang, this sword is considered very healthy and a top example of Tadahiro. Tang is in great condition, ubu 1 hole and no machi raise. A serious sword, for those collectors that want a textbook example.
