Description
Polished and papered in Japan. This is a genuine Kawachi no Kami Kunisuke of the famous Osaka Shinto School. Beautiful sword showing all of the characteristics of why a Jo-saku maker is good. Signature is of the nidai (second generation) which is the most famous of all the Kunisuke line. Called "Naka Kawachi" meaning middle because according to Fujishiro's he is in between the first and the third generations. Ranked as a Jo-saku smith and is known for his famous kobushigata choji (fist choji), he is also known as the shinto ichimonji smith as read in fujishiro's book. Signature is genuine papered by the NTHK in Japan, sword is signed and the tang has been shortened but retaining the signature by a technique called "orikaeshi-mei" or what is a flipped over signature (see pic). Temper is a very nice example of the "fist" choji, very bright ko-nie deki with nie. Ashi are very clear, and some area have saka (slanted) choji midare included in the mix. Polished in Japan, new silver habaki and shirasaya with hatome for the mekigi ana. For those that would like a real ranked and well known smith at a very reasonable price with 2 day inspection (US only). Sword bag included.
