Description
Wakizashi made by the famous smith from the Horikawa Kunihiro School. Dewa Daijo Kunimichi is known as the best student of Kunihiro. His works often resemble those of his teacher, especially when done in the Soshu tradition. This wakizshi is a fine example of the Soshu den produced by Kunimichi. Done in nie deki, the beautifully done notare gunome hamon has loads of activity such as strong sunagashi and kinsuji. Thick nie within the hamon shows the high skill of this smith, and one can see how he is greatly respected. The jigane is a really gorgeous itame with lots of ji nie and chikei. Boshi is very healthy and is almost ichimai. Tang is ubu 1 hole signed. This is a very healthy sword, and from the shape, one can tell it was not polished very much at all. In perfect polish done by Yoshikawa Kentaro. A 2 piece silver habaki and shirasaya accompany this piece.
