Description
Elegant great condition signed Goto School kozuka by Goto Mitsukata. Called Hoju, he is the 2nd Hoju and was the son of Got Unjo. The work of this kozuka is done very well, the design of the millet under the moon shows a scene that is very nicely in such a limited space. Well carved, the design is made of gold , silver and shakudo. As in all high grade Goto kozuka, the shakudo is top notch , and the nanako is done very cleanly. The fact that this is a signed piece is also a collectable trait. There are very few signed examples left in existence, and good condition examples are even more rare. Since this kozuka is from the 1700’s, one can appreciate the condition , as well as the quality. In a custom fitted box with NBTHK certificate

Description
Very nice Goto School kozuka by Goto Mitsuharu. As with most Goto School pieces, signed examples are very rare. Goto Mitsuharu worked in the 1600’s and was the son of the 10th master Renjo. Because he was a direct relative of the 10th master, the high quality of workmanship is shown well here on this piece. The design of the hydrangea flower which ten to bloom after the rains, sets the scene well that Mitsuharu depicts. The carving is done very nicely as expected from this school, and the design is well represented usingshakudo, gold and silver. As one can see, there is quite a difference between kozuka that some “think” are Got School, versus those that are REALLY from the Goto School. The quality in the design and the materials is unmistakable. The kozuka is in very good condition for its age, and that makes it exen more appealing. In a custom fitted box .

Description
Nice combination of ko-gatana and blade. Kozuka is on a shibuichi background with a design of a bird sitting on a branch looking at the ground. Good use of gold, shakudo and some red copper for the design. Kogatana is signed and has a lot of written poetic script. Small ware on the blade. Both pieces came together and are in good condition.
