Wide shaped wakizashi with a nice gunome hamon with ashi. There is a slight yakidashi that naturally runs into a healthy gunome hamon. The boshi is healthy as well with gunome turning into a type of "Jizo" boshi. The hada is a tight knit ko itame, but is hard to see as the blade is in an old polish. There are no flaws. Tang is ubu with 2 holes. Encased in a shirasaya.
The mounting has a nice set of fuchi kashira with the famous design of the demon killer Shoki and a Oni (demon) running away. The set looks like the work of the famous Hamano School done in shibuichi with use of various metals such as red copper, gold and shakudo. The menuki are very nice, with a design of Kaki (persimmons) doen in red copper and gold. Unfortunately the menuki were wrapped upside down, and we can have the handle re wrapped by the buyer for an additional $100. The scabbard is black with one mon near the kojiri. The kurikata is missing, but that can easily be fixed. Slight lacquer damage to the saya on the ha and mune side.
