On consignment, a Dai-Sho with nice waves and boat theme koshirae. This Daisho was brought back from Japan many years ago. The fuchi kashira are of waves finished in gold. The menuki are boats with waves done nicely in shakudo, silver and gold. Both saya are done in black lacquer. The daito and shoto tsuba are mokko shaped with the same design. .
This daito blade from the late Muromachi period with a nie based gunome temper with some tobiyaki.
Unfortunately, the temper gets faint on the ura in the monouchi area. The hada is runing masame. Nakago is ubu. Blade is mumei.
The shoto blade is also from the late Muromachi period with a nie based notare gunome temper. Hada is mokume with ji-nie. and some chikei. Blade is suriage mumei. At one point in time, this was a nice blade, but to being polished over the years, there is a small fukure and several ware, one being particularly large.
This daisho would be an very good study set and at the same time the mounts can be enjoyed.
