Description |
| Nice wide katana in WW2 mountings. Blade is very healthy with a hamon of gunome midare with yo inside in places though out the hamon. The jigane is a well made ko itame and there are no flaws. There is a small nick near the boshi, but it should polish out fine. The boshi is very healthy as well. This type of sword is difficult to judge, we have seen examples of polished swords that resemble this type of blade anywhere from the Shinto to the ShinShinto period. One clue is the yasurimei on the tang which are kesho. An interesting point is the well carved habaki, it has very fine work and may be a clue to the blades quality level. Mounted in WW2 mounts, handle in fair condition, scabbard damaged. |
