Description

A rare tanto by Toshihiro (also know as Yasukuni Shrine Yasuhiro) of the Yasukuni Shrine. This tanto was made for commerating the founding of the Nihonto Tanren Kai (Yasukuni Shrine Forge)
The blade is in good polish with no flaws. The hamon is a ko-nie deki suguha. The jigane is a nicely grained itame hada. Blade is accompanited with a NTHK kanteisho.
Toshihiro, real name is Miyaguchi Shigeru  (宮口繁) he was born in April 1897. He studied under Living National Treasure swordsmith Kasama Shigetsugu (笠間繁継). In 1934 he began to forge swords at the Yasukuni shrine, where he signed with his Yasukuni name. Yasuhiro (靖広).
