A long beautiful blade that is very broad and thick despite its age, and with a nice curvature from the Nanbokucho period. Long blades were popular during the 1300's - 1500's on polearms. Later during the Edo period, many were modified to be used as a Katana. This blade is still very long having a strong shape.The hada is itame with masame. The hamon is ko-nie deki ko-gunome midare. The blade is in a very good Japanese polish and is accompanied with a 2-piece silver habaki and a high quality shirasaya. The blade is o-suriage mumei and comes with an NBTHK Tokubetsu Hozon attributing it to the ko-Uda school.
