Description
Rare tsuba from the famous Okamoto family of Choshu craftsmen. Not only is this tsuba well carved, but it is in very excellent condition as well. Rare is the addition of nanako done on an iron plate, usually since this is a very difficult process, it is usually done on soft metal, not tempered iron. Very nice in design, and the addition of the well inlayed shakudo plugs adds to the appeal. The tsuba speaks for itself.
