| Description |
| Nice iron Ko-Nara style tsuba with design of a man on a brigde talking to a frog on the bank of a stream with a large tree. The scene extends to the reverse side of the tsuba. The carving is done well with nice use of gold, silver and copper inlay as highlights. This is a well forged and hammered tsuba. As with other Nara tsuba the motif is depicting a Japanese folktale, perhaps this is tsuba is a depiction of the Japanese folktale "Washi no Tamago" or The eagle's egg, where the main characters are a man and a frog. A nice tsuba for a very reasonable price, and in good condition with nice patina. |
