| Very nice set of menuki done in red copper known as Suaka. Usually menuki of this type are done by the Goto or Nara Schools. The work is very well done, with deep detailed carving especially on the boat. The 3d effect is done very well and hard to capture in a photo. The design is of a man on a boat for the ura side, and the omote side is of birds in flight over the water. Good use of shakudo and gold for the accents. Large size at a reasonable price. |
