Chizuka Hisanori was one of the most famous artist from the well known Omori School. Teruhide is the most well known, but he is said to have been matched in skill by Chizuka Hisanori who has many pieces that have achieved Juyo status. Because quality is kept high, there are very few pieces in existence. As one can see from the pics, the attention to fine detail is outstanding. The quail are not only carved well, but the position of the quail is very lifelike. Gold over solid shakudo, all top quality material. He is very high ranked (Jo Ko), and is very collectable. He died in 1795, and was said to be a samurai under the Matsudaira. It is also said that he was the teacher of Kikukawa Hisahide a well respected artist in his own right. In a custom fitted box.
