| Description |
| Large set of shakudo menuki from the Momoyama period (1596-early 1600’s). It is even possible that these menuki are from the very late muromachi period. They are in very good condition and are very nice examples of the early Ko Kinko school. The shakudo is very deep and dark, and the carving is very nice and shows very little wear. There are small fine silver dots on the leaves for the accents. They are very tall as is the style when well made from this time period. This particular set was from the famous Miyake collection, who was one of the main sponsors for the Fittings museum in Tokyo. Very collectable with a custom box. The subject is rather confusing, and with further study more information will be added. |
