set of menuki done in the round. Design of geese in flight, this
set of menuki have a great sense of calm from its subject. Nature
themes such as this set were very popular among the late 1800 craftsmen.
This set is very well done using various soft metals to create a
very realistic design. Base metal is shakudo with use of silver
and gold. Detail is very fine showing the quality of this set. It
is amazing how an artist can create such a scene in such a small
limited space. This shows the skill and taste of the artist. |
