Description |
| A very nice package just in on consignment. This is a sword by Yoriyoshi, which was the early signature of Enomoto Sadayoshi. Sadayoshi was one of the top students of Gassan Sadakatsu, and during his early years he used the name Yoriyoshi. He became a mukansa smith after the war, thus showing how well his skill was from his experience working directly with Sadakatsu. This blade is in perfect polish, the hamon is a Soshu den suguha similar to that of Norishige. There is activity nie of many small kinsuji within the suguha based hamon. Chikei anmd fine ji nie appear in the ji as well. For a sword made during the war time era, one can see that there was no compromise in quality.
The mountings are in very good condition, the handle has a nice set of what look like modern Fuchi kashira with a design of dragon and waves. The menuki are gold dragons. The tsuba is an iron plate, probably modern as well. The scabbard is a mix of red and black lacquer done in a long swirl striped pattern.
