| Description |
Katana by the famous Omi no Kami Hisamichi. Hisamichi worked in the Mishina School under the famous Tamba no Kami Yoshimichi.
The blade is a well done form of Kyoto style gunome with notare midare. Kinsuji appear in very fine form with ashi . The jigane is a mix of masame with mokume. Chikei is present with jinie. The tang is ubu, but the jiri is slightly suriage. In Japanese polish and shirasaya.
The mount is a very nice Higo mount. The fuchi kashira are of iron higo with a design done in golf nunome zogan of pine tree branches. The menuki are of kiri mons on a band that is in the middle of the handle. The wrap is a Higo style lacquered leather style that is not seen very often.The tsuba is a iron sukashi design with nanako cutouts. Gold nunome zogan of kiri mons is done very nicely. The scabbard is a cinnabar brown color with some slight nicks but in otherwise good condition. The kogai is also of iron with a design of 2 birds. The kojiri is a large Higo style done in silver. The koshirae is very nice all together and important as it is original. Mounts on tsunagi.
