| Shinto maker Echizen
Shigetaka mounted in tachi koshirae. Nice blade with hamon made
up of gunome choji midare. Itame mixed with masame complete the
jigane details. Shigetaka was a well known maker from Echizen,
and this sword is the 2nd generation. Blade is in old polish and
is healthy. Accompanied with a itomaki no tachi mount that is probably
made in the early part of the 20th century. The mountings of this
tachi are done in silver with scrolling vine pattern, there is
a mon of the Oda family on the saya. In complete condition. This
is a consignment piece from a long time collector. |
