| Description |
| Very large iron sukashi tsuba with design of leaves and branches. I am not quite sure what type of tree this is, but if submitted to the shinsa, they might be able to tell what exactly this may be. The tsuba is carved very well, even the slight kebori is done very finely. The tsuba has the canted rim seen in such schools as Higo, Akasaka and Tosa Myochin. However, this tsuba may well be from the Kinai School It is often easy to say that this type is from the Shoami School, but sometimes you have to look and spend time with them for a more accurate reading. However, what is important is that this tsuba is in nice condition, and is either collectable on its own, or it would look great on a sword. With wooden box.. |
