Rare Iron Set of Shishi Menuki

Item #FT-44

$450.00

Description
As we had stated before, iron menuki are rare and when seen , sometimes are rusted beyond repair. So a good set is a rare find, and should go to a good home. The Kara Shishi are well cut, done in the style of the Omori or Yanagawa Shishi. But since this set is made of iron, a good guess would be the Tetsugendo School, or the Mito Kinko School. Also, what is interesting is the pins in the back, this type show that they were originally dashi menuki, or for mounting as a mekugi either on top of the wrap or on the same’ only.
