Possible late Koto wakizashi done in shinogi zukuri form. Hamon is a type used by the Mino Seki or Kashu group during the late Muromachi period or Keicho Shinto era. The large formed gunome togari has nice small activity done within the hamon. Kinsuji appears in the koniwe deki hamon. Ashi and small yo are seen. Since the blade is done in a nice sashi komi polish, the hamon is easily visible all the way through. The jigane is a runnning itame with masame. Chikei appears in places, and a slight shirake appears. The boshi is very healthy.
The mountings are very nice and in very good condition. The tsuba is an iron plate with some silver zogan of a scrolling vine. The fuchi kashira is a simple set done in solid silver, with nicely carved silver dragons for the menuki. There are nice silver or shibuichi parts for the scabbard, which is done in a nice masame styled lacquer. The kozuka is done in gold of a monkey among the vines and the backside finish in gold ishime.. Style looks old like Mino or Tachikanagushi.
